YogaFit Review: {TCFG}

“YogaFit is about strength, flexibility, and stress management for people who love movement. It’s about fitness over fashion, and finding your inner balance, beauty, and confidence.”

Studio: YogaFit {Linden Hills Location}

Location: 4507 France Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55410

What is YogaFit? “YogaFit is about strength, flexibility, and stress management for people who love movement. It's about fitness over fashion, and finding your inner balance, beauty, and confidence. Our classes build you up physically and emotionally. Tone your body and invigorate your mind at our studios.”

YogaFit offers a wide variety of classes ranging from beginner level to advanced yogi.

  • Level 1 Classes {YogaFit Restore + YogaFit Foundations} are the only classes offered in a non-heated environment and are great for those beginning their practice or looking for a ‘back to your roots’ flow.
  • Level 2 Classes {YogaFit Core + YogaFit Barre} are moderate level classes that are centered around strengthening and stabilizing the core muscles to improve your practice and prevent injuries. These classes are held in a mildly heated studio to help increase blood flow and warm the muscles.
  • Level 3 Classes {YogaFit Fusion + YogaFit Sweat} are both held in the heated studio and the most advanced of all the offerings. The fusion class combines vinyasa flow, weights, and cardio to strengthen and tone the entire body and YogaFit Sweat is a detoxifying 60-minute vinyasa flow class focused on flexibility, core engagement, and breath.

Classes are offered at many different times throughout the day, but if you are not able to make it to a live class, the studio offers virtual yoga that can be done at the studio whenever your schedule allows.

What to expect? Arrive a few minutes prior to the start of class to allow yourself ample time to setup for class and prepare your mind. Mats are available for use for FREE at the studio, but you are welcome to bring your own mat/towel to practice with as well. The room is heated for 4 of their 6 classes, so bringing a towel along is probably a good idea {especially if you sweat like me}. General yoga wear {leggings, capris, tightly fit tops, bare feet} is perfect attire for all classes offered at YogaFit. Classes generally run about 60 minutes in length, so I recommend bringing a water bottle with you and maybe even having a light snack prior to attending.

My take on YogaFit:  I took both the YogaFusion + YogaSweat classes over the course of my free week {Yes, new clients receive 1 week of unlimited yoga for FREE} and loved them both! I started with the YogaSweat class and let me tell you, it’s been quite awhile since I have practiced any type of yoga, so I was a little rusty + ridiculously tight in my hips, but the instructors were wonderful about helping with corrections {both verbally + manually} and keeping the class flowing with confidence. Luckily, it didn’t take me too long to pick up my practice again and about mid-way through the class I felt my breath calming and my body beginning to move more freely.

However much I love a good vinyasa flow, the YogaFusion class was probably the class I enjoyed the most! It combined three of my favorite types of exercise {yoga, weights + cardio} into one amazing workout! There was a yoga warm up to start + then as class progressed, weights were incorporated as we performed circuits that specifically targeted each section of the body. Then finally, with the sweat pouring + my muscles burning, we finished in final savasanah. It was tough to say the least, but the energy in this class was so high + exhilarating!

YogaFit is a much smaller and more personable yoga studio than any other I’ve been ever been to. No matter what level your practice is at you can be sure that you will be able to flow with confidence and no judgment will be given. YogaFit is a wonderful, close-knit community with instructors who are genuinely interested in their students both inside the studio and out, plus a portion of the dues each month are used to help others in need throughout the world, pretty cool huh?

So get in there + try it out! The 1st week is FREE unlimited yoga, what are you waiting for?!
