Whether it’s joining friends for dinner, going to a backyard barbeque {ok, maybe this is a bit of wishful thinking for February} or attending a holiday with family, it pretty much goes without saying that you should bring a dish to pass. Maybe they didn’t specifically request that you do so, but for me it’s just common courtesy. Another huge reason I am more than willing to whip up something to share is to ensure that there is something available for me to eat that I know is made from real, whole food ingredients.

A few of my favorite recipes to bring to gatherings are my Bacon Wrapped Goat Cheese Stuffed Dates + my Paleo Sweet Potato Casserole, however those do take a moderate amount of prep time so I usually make sure I have around 30-45 minutes set aside to create them. On the other hand, if I’m in a bind and need something delicious and quick, this Easy Homemade Guacamole wins every time.

The fact that I am obsessed with this recipe probably has a lot do to with the fact that avocados are one of my all time favorite foods. Avocados not only taste amazing, but they are extremely versatile and SO beneficial to our health! With all of that positivity behind them, I can’t help but to eat 3-4 of these {Green Goddesses} every week!

Because I love avocados{and in turn this guacamole} so much, I just assume everyone else in the world will too and that’s why it accompanies me to most of the gatherings, parties, and/or events that I attend. And I am pretty positive that others enjoy this recipe too, but I’m only assuming that because I rarely have any left to bring home;)

Classic Homemade Guacamole

Healthy Vegetable Dip, Healthy Fats, Guacamole Dip, Healthy Appetizers

Ingredients:

·       4 Avocados

·       ¼ C. Red Onion

·       ¼ C. Fresh Cilantro

·       3 Garlic Cloves, diced

·       2 Tbsp. Lime Juice

·       2 Tsp. Sea Salt

·       1 Tsp. Garlic Powder

·       1 Tsp. Onion Powder

 Methods:

·       Finely dice the onions, garlic and cilantro and add to a medium size bowl

·       Juice a lime and add to bowl

·       Half the avocados, remove the pits, and empty the contents into the bowl

·       Add the remaining seasonings to the bowl

·       Mash everything together with a large spoon or spatula

·       Serve with raw veggies or plaintain chips

·       Store in the refrigerator in an air tight container for up to 5 days {it may start to brown prior to this}
