9 Rounds + 30 Minutes = amazing results!

What to expect: 9Round is open 5:30am-12pm and again 3:30pm-8pm{ at least the Golden Valley location—be sure to check the schedule at each specific studio, as the times do fluctuate} however unlike traditional group fitness studios, there are no schedules class times--meaning you can show up whenever your schedule allows + get to work {aka: you'll never be late to class again!}

As pretty standard for your first time at a studio/gym, you're going to want to show up a few minutes before you plan on starting your workout to sign liability waivers and lots of super fun stuff like that. I wore regular {gym clothing: a tank + capris} and any type of gym shoe is fine as well, other than that I brought a water bottle + myself--- and that's all I needed!

Gloves were provided to me as a first time class participant, but you may need to purchase those on your own if you're interested in becoming a member of the studio.

The workout is 9Rounds, 30minutes + then you're done! So if you're like me and love the early AM workouts, you'll can be finished with your workout by 6am---I don't know many other studios that have this option + this was a BIG deal to me as it left plenty of time to go home and get ready for work!

My take on 9Round: Prior to taking this class I had never taken any kind of kickboxing before and only 1 boxing class {Read all about our time at Title 9 Boxing} so I’m sure I was looking pretty {fresh} when it came to my boxing skills, but hey who really looks good at 5:30am?! There were 9 rounds total throughout the workout and then we were done!

Rounds 1 + 2 were {strength building} stations that incorporate weights and other equipment to build both strength + stamina, while rounds 3-8 involved spending time striking the bag in many different ways. The strikes, speed, and position were varied throughout these remaining rounds to help improve our endurance and overall striking abilities. I feel like I caught on fairly quickly to the exercises {even though this was my first time} and by the end of the workout I was very comfortable with most moves.

Like I said before, the 30-minuted HIIT type workout is very accommodating to the average American as it allows you to efficiently get your daily exercise and get on with your day. However, personally I’m just not sure that I sweat enough to consider myself {workout out} for the day. Now, don’t get me wrong, I did sweat throughout the 30 minutes, and it was by no means {easy} I’m just saying that the workout was not as high intensity as the classes I’m used to taking + I wasn’t dripping sweat afterwards.

 

 

Now for some rapid fire questions about my time at 9Round:

Did I enjoy the workout? Yes!

Will I go back? Yes, I have a lot of friends who I really think would enjoy this type of exercise + I can’t wait to introduce them!

Am I a good kick boxer? Not even close!

Favorite part of 9Round? Early AM classes!!!
