Equipment Free Total Body YogaBurn [30 Minutes]
Another quarantined week, another week of new workout blogs for y’all. I was saying this over on my Instagram the other day but I believe that it’s well worth repeating so I’ll say it again.
If you want to don’t feel up to exercising throughout everything that is going on in the world right now, that is A-OK by me. But if you are someone like me (who basically uses exercise as your therapist and source of energy for the day) then you should absolutely continue to exercise to whatever extent that feels good for you and your body.
I’ve seen a lot of exercise shaming on social media lately and I’m not for it. Everyone is different and everyone has the right to choose what they do with their body and their entire day and if they want to exercise GREAT. For me, exercise is one of my main areas of “normalcy” right now and I’m very confident that if I wasn’t making sure that I moved my body everyday, I would be losing it by now.
Let’s take a second to talk about the flip side (because there are 2 sides to every story) which is that I’ve also seen a lot of fat shaming going on throughout the social media world as well. Have I personally done this? Intentionally, no. But unintentionally, probably. You see… joking about gaining weight during this quarantine is actually a roundabout way of saying that weight gain, excess weight, being fat, etc. is not ok. Let me say that one more time. Joking about gaining weight during this quarantine is actually a roundabout way of saying that weight gain, excess weight, being fat, etc. is not ok. And that my friends, is not cool.
So instead let’s try this. Let’s try spending less time worrying about how other people are spending their time social distancing and spend more time focusing on how we are spending our own time. Let’s try judging others less and spreading kindness more. Let’s try L O V I N G & showing up for others more than we ever have before because right now, it’s needed in a big way.
Sending so, so much love and happiness to all of you right now. ENJOY!
